& today was a day just like any other.

“Now it’s time to leave the lights and hope that the future is just as bright.”

Part of me wonders how I’ve allowed myself to become so tied into this “scene.” I feel like it’s gotten to the point where I can’t put photos of me and bands on Myspace anymore without getting some sort of bizarre rumor started about me. All the drama in my life happens because of shows, bands, and people I meet at shows. Dumb right?

But I could never turn my back on it. Why? Because at the end of the day, there are the people that make it all worth it. There are the best friends I have made that stick by me no matter what. Just to name a few, Bissy, Hana, Sara, Amanda and Gina. And of course there’s Christine, but we didn’t meet at a show. I’d be nothing without these people.

I guess what I’m trying to say is, if you’re recently falling in love with shows and that environment, watch your back. Because people are not what they appear to be ever. Don’t go to shows to make connections, go for the love of the music. Lose yourself in the drum beats and guitar riffs that mean so much to you. Sing along to the lyrics that have gotten you through the worst of times. Because the second you go for something more is the second you’re stuck.

truer words have never more been said.
